Root LG Ally V8 Stock ROM - Now in ROM Manager!

    I went ahead and added an unmodified version of of the LG Ally V8 stock image to my listing in ROM Manager. When downloading, you will be given an option to root it if you so choose.

    so this is the complete stock like nothing is changed it still gets
    OTA updates and everything

    Exactly. You'll still have your custom recovery though..

    Cool - thank you. By the way, the Velocity ROM has been working great for me on my Ally. A noticable improvement for me over the stock V8 ROM I was using.

    Sweet! I remember after I donated for ROM Manager and went to download roms that two thoughts crossed my mind...

    1. Velocity isn't romS, it's rom. ;);)
    2. It would be super sweet if the stock rom could be picked up from here too.

    And now look at you Trident... there you go taking away all of my energy and reasons to complain. Shame on you! ;)

    Seriously though, great job!

    I, however, can't find it... and I'm not (INTENTIONALLY) being stupid. I thought this was an excellent idea. But when I went to give it a try, I found no such rom available for download.

    There are 2 options, extra stuff and velocity, click on velocity, then there will be 2 roms lg ally stock and velocity 0.1.1. I had the same problem

    Its listed under velocity. You select velocity and it shows up underneath just like the picture Trident posted

    I just downloaded the manager again, and downloaded the v8 stock to verify. Its all savvy

    I was moving the files needed for the stock ROM over to a new server at the time you checked.

    Sorry.. :(

    is there anyway someone could post this as a zip on here because my phone is messed up and hardly stays on and when it did come on i couldnt get rom manager to load the velocity section. it worked for extra stuff tho. but anyways i need to flash the stock rom so i can send it into verizon otherwise it wont be covered in my warenty

    I've got all that stuff already, I was wondering if anyone has the rom itself, not a nandroid. I'm looking for the framework-res.apk file in the orriginal rom. A nandroid backup won't have that.

    In order to receive OTA updates from Verizon do you need to "unroot" or can the rooted phone with the Velocity Stock V8 flash still receive the updates?

    You also have to remove any custom recovery you have. I.e. clockwork. There is a thread that explains how to do it.
