Hello ALL,
So I have the Triumph. Rooted and running CM7 on the Sprint Network sold by Virgin Mobile. I didnt pay my monthly bill ( 5 months now) and stumbled upon something interesting. My Google Voice app will still receive and send text messages using the mobile network. Gmail is fully functional and I can send and receive e-mails, as well as download attachments, again, using the mobiles own network. The Play store will STILL WORKS ONLY using Google Play Store v3.10.10 (hacked apk) basically it bypasses the license verification on apks, on the mobile network. As far as calls, only on wifi. Get Gtalk and associate it with Google Voice. You can call anyone. YW!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Are you sure you're not connected to WIFI? Google voice uses data (as do every other service mentioned), not VM's CDMA network like traditional texting applications. My experience with VM (through a friend and my mom) is that they cut off service at the end of the paid billing cycle immediately.

Also, we will have no talk of hacked play store APK's here!!!!

Well... I will add this:

My wife recently lost her phone and I got an Optimus Elite on the 'Bay for cheap from a dude that had upgraded to an Evo 4g.

Voice was deactivated, but data worked fine for the whole week it took pissing around with VM to get it transferred. It was wiped, and she put her gmail account on it and restored her contacts and apps, long before it was activated. Root and CWM too for that matter.

Btw, the Elite is a decent phone for $35 if anyone has similar bad luck.

Also, AdFree can update itself using the cells own mobile data. An btw, having my apks not trying to verify themselves is great.

Well thank you for bringing this to our attention, we'll have to address this potential issue right away.

Sincerely, The Virgin Mobile Support Team
