Help Loosing my marbles here... Gmail app help please?

I've noticed that for the last couple of days my Gmail app hasn't been notifying me of new mails unless I open the app.
Thing is, I don't seem to have an option to change the frequency of send/receive.
Googling reveals that it's under "Gmail," "menu," "more," "settings," then "send/receive." Thing is, I no longer seem to have a send/receive option to access? I'm sure there used to be, and it's there for the htc Mail app, but I cannot find the Gmail one.

So, old age setting in? why can't I find it? any help gratefully received...

Chris

EDIT: Sorry, after reading the feedback for the app, it looks as if it's a problem with the app itself and isn't resolvable until they update it. unless anyone knows differently of course

I don't know about the bug, but the fact you can't set the frequency of the send/receive is because gmail uses a different form of communication with the server. When you get an email, the server tells the phone; so the phone doesn't need to keep checking in and wasting battery :)
