Not the shutdown animation, the screen off animation. Its currently CRT, but that doesn't work so it goes black with lag. I was trying to find a way to make the screen off animation back to stock fade.

I think you need to modify some files in the rom and/or build.prop, but I'm not sure. I guess only GameTheory knows as he puts CRT in all of his roms, but because of this phone's hardware it doesn't work for the f3.
 
No need to reflash an entire rom just to change the shutdown animation. Simply flash the shutdown animation or swap it with a root file explorer.

As for the CRT animation, you guys will have to wait till a get some time to post an update.

Thank you so much, the CRT thing was really annoying me since it wasn't working and I just wanted to go back to stock fade animation. As for the shutdown animation, that was just a misread mistake, pretend like that never happened ;).

  • de-odexed
  • removed crt animation
  • updated busybox binary to latest v1.23.1
  • updated some apps
  • new android 5.0 wallpaper
  • changed some app icons
ICONS CHANGED:
  • settings, phone, app drawer
  • downloads, browser, calculator
  • contacts, mms, apollo
  • calendar, clock, mail
Since the rom is de-odexed now you must wipe data before you flash this update. Just follow the instructions that are already listed with the rom.

You can theme the hell out of a rom without it being deodexed. Deodexing is only useful if your gonna edit smali code. I only did it so I wouldn't have to hear about it anymore.
 
Oh I understand. The only problem about deodexing for this phone that I have discovered from testing my custom rom is that it takes so long to boot at first that its hard to see if its a bootloop or just taking a long time. After that it should be fine, its only a problem when testing a rom.

Reason why first boot after a fresh flash takes long is because now the odex files are packed into the apks(deodexed) as classes.dex and android now needs to decode the dex from each apk. That goes for any phone only on the first boot of a fresh flash or factory reset. That's why I do all my testing before deodexing to save some time.

Yep, I've themed all kinds of things without deodexing. I don't mess with smali though, I need to get deeper into the code before I'll be comfortable with that.
 
OK I flashed it and it looks AWESOME! I love it and it works great. The only problem is that for some reason I lost root, which is weird. It was no problem though as I just re-rooted, but I don't know what really could have caused me to lose root from just wiping and flashing from CWM recovery.
 
Superuser gives a notification asking you to update the su binary when you first boot the rom and you just say yes and select normal install. You probably didn't do that.
 
No, from CWM, it said that root may have been removed. I opened superSU and it said I don't have root. I fixed it now. I'm also getting a lot of crashing as well. The solution seems to be uninstall and reinstall for that.
 
I think the problem may have been the deodexing causing crashing for me. And the root thing could have been file corrupting. To be fair I do have the t-mobile phone, but that rumor has been broken long ago so that is definitely not the problem.
 
Yes I know, I was just trying to rationalize what the problem might have been. Brotherswing is installing so we'll find out if its just me or the rom.

Ok link is back up with minor adjustment to installer.
 
Hopefully it works better than the version I tried. I hit a fatal error trying to install three times. That was with TWRP. I finally reinstalled your CWM recovery, and in spite of getting an error 7, I managed to fix permissions and boot up. The good news is I have no problems with root. The bad news is most people would not have gotten through the install with all the errors my phone threw at me. Did you have any install trouble, Aqua?
 
I had the same problem as well. I kept getting fatal errors, but after I booted it booted normally so I thought that was a CWM problem or something and not the rom. All the problems I had have seemed to fix now thought without having to re-flash.
 
Yeah you guys have an older version of recovery so I had to revert back to my old installer. New update should install fine.
 
CWM 6.0.4.0 and TWRP 2.8.0.0, not the newest ones but its what we have.

EDIT: The old one keeps having play services crashing so I'm just to flash the new one.
