Help Milestone xt720 voice search missing?

Did a search beforehand, cannot find anything. As the title suggests, voice search is completely absent from my xt720. Device is not carrier branded, and factory unlocked.

Software version is str_u2_02.18.3

Firmware is 2.1-update1

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

I was able to download the apk for voice search and it works fine. I'm a bit new to android with most of my background being with ios and palm. It was easy enough
