This WILL replace my Evo. Hoping for a relase sooner, rather than later... Love the Evo, was hoping the Thunderbolt would be better, but I'll rock this one instead! Hello Moto!
why oh why would you ditch the Evo for a locked down Moto device?

With high end smart phones like this one coming out, I have to wonder what RIM (BlackBerry) is planning in order to survive... Surely, BlackBerry users are seeing these high end, super fast devices launch and wanting more out of their phone...
Ahhh, Ok. I didn't see that on either Engadget or the Bionic page on Motor's website.

if you watched the live webcast slides on engadget they said Q2 at the presentation.
I have an X, did the 2yr upgrade when it came out, but i'm not 100% sold on this phone yet. Don't get me wrong it does look nice but...
1. i need more info
2. i'd like to see someone have some hand time with it
3. it's the first generation of 4g for a company(moto) and there are bound to be release issues.
Yeah, I am a little scared because of the locked bootloader of a Moto. I have been a long time HTC user and have always rooted. So updates wasn't an issue. I am going to be interested in what LG and Sammy have to offer tomorrow.
you sound like everyone else when the Droid X was about to be released.."oh it will never be rooted, it will never be able to be themed, we'll never be able to use custom Roms"....have faith man. There are people out there already drooling at getting their hands on this so they can say they cracked it first. It will happen.
I don't think anyone is worried about just getting it rooted, everyone is worried about the locked bootloader. That is the big problem. Also while the X can run custom roms it isn't the same as the Incredible.
Also it cannot run custom kernals yet either I believe.
I don't understand the problem. I have a rooted X right now, running a rom, and I've applied themes, and even used the 3G Hotspot hack. What else do you need?

One thing if I am not mistaken is you can never run a true AOSP ROM, also you most likely won't ever get a cyanogen rom either. I guess for most it won't matter.
Also flashing different kernals can overclock and undervolt battery if you want. I know the Droid X can now overclock but it is a little different.
cyanogen rom ? I don't care about it being cyanogen. There are great roms and themes out there for the Droid X right now.
