I am currently on the leaked 2.2 version. I was not rooted at the time when I went to 2.2 and really have not felt the need to. However my wonderful AT&T DSL is all messed up getting to our house and they can't be out to next week. So I want to root to be able to use my phone for WiFi.

My question is, which way is easier for someone who knows enough to work his way through things, but will mess up from time to time. 1) Flash the SBF, go back to 2.1 use universal root and then reload the leaked 2.2. 2) Go through the steps to root 2.2 using the Driod 2 method.

Also what Wifi Tether application would you suggest?

Thanks for your help and input.
