New Charge user

Welcome to Android Forums!

Since the Charge is a relatively new phone, there may not be a whole lot of experience with optimizations. Maybe you can be a pioneer. I do know that deep cycling the battery on a new Android phone will improve the time between charges.

Modern LiIon batteries do not have a memory, but you do need to teach the phone what a full charge represents. I always do this with a new phone:

1. let the battery run out until the phone shuts itself off.

2. Charge the battery uninterrupted back to full using the A/C charger, NOT the usb cable.

3. Unplug the phone and reboot it.

4. plug the phone back into the charger and shut the phone off. Even if it says fully charged, leave the phone plugged in for at least an additional hour.

5. Reboot the phone one more time.

Now Android knows the capacity of your battery and will report the charge more accurately. Be advised that you shouldn't have to do this more than once and frequently deep-cycling the battery can damage it. Smaller incremental charges will make you battery last longer, both between charges and for its lifetime.
