Help New Signal Question 1x vs. 3G

I too have the fluctuating 1x bars but (so far at least) have never dropped a call. I am in a relatively weak signal area most of the time -100dBm

However my real concern is over 3G dropping in and out. This signal (and frequency) is totally separate, correct? Why is my 3G signal occassionally dropping out? Very annoying when trying to access the Web, etc. Doesn't happen a lot but enough to make me question the radio and if I have a marginal device.

Are others seeing this? If I can't get this sorted I'm goign to have to go back to the iPhone. For reference the crappy ATT signal here (frequently -105dBm or worse) never drops 3G.

Hope someone can give me a solid answer.

I dialed *228 option 1 to activate my phone. Seems to have fixed the problem.

You mean on the fly and after you've been using the phone for awhile?

My signal drops like that but it has no effect on the performance at all.

Yep I activated my phone on the 13th and didn't do the reactivate thing till a couple days ago.
