I just go my Droid and love it. But with 100K apps I need help. What are the must have apps? What fun games are there. What gadgets are cool. What do I need/
Google is your best friend. Start with "android apps". Page after page of essential, best, top.. from users, blogs and publications. Then do your homework.
I've only had my Droid three weeks, but have found a few that have become essential (or too much fun):
A Online Radio - I'm a casual listener, this works for me.
Aldiko - epub book reader
Apps Organizer - Nice little widget for application folders
Astro - must have, file & system manager
Barcode Scanner
Dolphin Browser - pinch & zoom, worth trying
Google Earth
FCC Test - 3G speed test
Google Goggles
Layar - Interesting
Meridian - media player, nothing special but I like the interface better
Flixter - Nice movie finder
NPR - National Public Radio, programs and stream stations.
PdaNet - tether your notebook
Qik - live stream video from your phone
Ringdroid -must have, create ringtones from any Mp3
Screen mode - silly little widget with 3 toggles, normal, unlock, stay-on
Setting Profiles - create and toggle/autmate profiles. A powerful work-in-progess.
Shazam - let it listen to a tune and get the info.
Smart Monitor - I just like knowing what's going on under the hood.
Swype - amazing keyboard replacement. In beta, sign up and hope.
Ultrachron - nice stopwatch/countdown timer. There are many out there...
Voice recorder - works for my needs.
WiFinder - WiFi hotspot finder
Until you like something better, mount the power control widget to turn stuff on and off.
Accesories? I love the seidio case myself. Since cases interfere with docks, I also like the seidio dock and car mount.
