Hi, I'm new to smartphones and just picked up the Droid last night. I like it so far but have a few questions.

    1. If I were to load MP3's from my laptop, where would I save them to? When I connect it to my laptop I see the following folders:

    2. When connected to my laptop I noticed my 'download' folder had some video clips I watched earlier in the day. How do I navigate to those files within the Droid?

    3. My ringer volume was on high but I couldn't hear it when people called or sent me a text. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but the last thing I was doing on my Droid was watching YouTube vids. After that all my sounds were coming out of the ear piece and not the external speaker. I turned it off, pulled the battery, powered back up and everything was fine. Not sure if it was something I did?

Sorry if these are dumb questions. As I said before, I've very new to Smartphones. My last phone was barely ran Tetris, lol.

    Thanks in advance!

From my understanding, saving music files, your device should pick them up pretty much anywhere. For your own organization, I suggest creating a "Music" folder and place everything there. Depending if you get a different media player for your device, you can specifically say what folders to look in.

As for volume, there is a difference bettween media volume, notification volume, and ringer volume. In setting check your sound a display stuff.

Finally, file explorers are on the app store. Depending on what you need different ones are recommended. In general I'd go with "Explorer"

    Did i miss anything?

hi, i have a hero, but no one else has replied yet so feel free to try my suggestions in the meantime:

1: save them anywhere, your device should be smart enough to find any mp3s on your phone and load them correctly.
2: Check your album viewer, and find the album named "downloads", they should be in there.
3: Are you sure the phone didn't accidentally think you still had earphones connected? If it happens again check the status bar to see if the headset connected icon is still there.

See if thats any help to you!

Thanks, I'll give those a shot!

That's the thing, I never had headphones connected.

Running into another problem. Whenever I try to access videos/pictures I've taken and saved the Droid boggs down, almost freezes. The I get a message that says , "Sorry! Activity Movies (in application Camera) is not responding. Options to FORCE CLOSE or WAIT. I tried rebooting but no difference.

Your having way too many issues! If i were you, go to verizon, demand a new device. It should be smooth sailing from there.
