Help nexus one camera question?

TruFatty

Newbie
when i take a picture with my unrooted nexus one, the pictures take just fine, but when i view them in the gallery they have a black border on the left and right side, so the picture appears to not be full screen.

i just noticed that and i compare it to pictures i've taken months ago and those pictures appear in the gallery as a full screen image.

nothing on the phone has changed, the camera settings are the same as they were when i first got the phone.

is this me, am i going crazy? or is this an actual issue. also this seems to happen more when holding the phone in landscape mode when taking the picture.

any insight would be helpful

i think someone changed your picture quality from 5MP to 3 or something ...

check that setting to be sure.

Mine has black borders, it's because the screen aspect ratio is different to the camera.

Screen = 3:5
Camera = 4:3

You simply can't have the photos you've taken shown as full screen, they would either have something cut off, of be distorted.

@Rusty!

i get what your saying, but for some reason it wasn't always like that. i'm going to do a little more digging on this and see if i can come up with some.

the odd thing is, i have pictures on the phone that i have taken with the phone and they show full screen without being distorted. this only recently started.

for now i'll just deal with it, still waiting for gingerbread, maybe google made some improvements to the camera.

I doubt it, camera firmware is phone specific so I don't think they'll have been working on that over at google. The most you might see of it is an update of the actual camera application.
