Hi, so things turned out fairly well, was up for an upgrade on Sunday, M8 released same week, am fairly impressed so far. Its a big phone (bigger that my old One X) but I have big hands so there is no real issue. Not too sure about the mega pixel issue, time will guess.

One thing I cannot figure out though is this notification icon, any idea?

Just curious what this icon encircled in read means. Been on the status bar for quite some time.

    NFC (Near Field Communication)

NFC is a form of wireless communication that allows the flow of information between two devices. The technology, according to the NFC Forum, comes in three flavors: tag reader and writer, device to device, and card emulation.

Awesome! So does having this feature activated drain the battery more quickly?

No it shouldn't but if you don't use it then just disable it.
