Dude, read the whole article; especially the OP. The OP said they heard it from a friend so it's not credible nor "concrete" proof.

Don't worry many people claim "I know a friend."

I mean think about it I know Samsung and TMO are slow at updates, but they know where the money is to be made and that is to have Froyo on all the US Galaxy S phones by Christmas so many people will buy the Galaxy S phones over some other phone.

This is totally wrong, especially considering the captivate just snagged a beta or so of Froyo, and it is an official build not an XDA build.

Just sit back relax and wait, there is only one month left till Froyo rolls on all SGS's.

That is bad news, hopefully this guy is wrong. Guess we will just have to wait for that T-Mo announcement.

This is bs, why do people even bother creating such threads apart from wanting attention.

This is why I unloaded my Captivate, could not deal with the lack of details coming from Samsung. The GPS fix for the Captivate was crap, did not address the issue for me. As for the Froyo leak, if I remember correctly, sometime around early August there was a leaked Froyo for either the Captivate or Galaxy S phones. The rumors back then was that September would be the drop dead month for its release. Now folks are saying October and November. There was also news that EU Galaxy S owners would get Froyo in September, around the 23rd. That prediction came and went, EU is still waiting and Spain pushed their deployment back.

I hope all Galaxy S owners soon get Froyo and their long time coming GPS fix. I decided that spending $200 to be a Samsung crash test dummy was not worth it and exchanged my Captivate for an IPhone4.

I think the story is BS but it's certainly on to something.

Touchwiz is just not compatible with Android, Samsung needs to realize this. As a former Behold II user I can promise you that if/when you get froyo, there will be so many bugs that you'll probably wish you hadn't received the update.

Its not true about the GPS fix, I just got the GPS fix OTA on my Vibrant, it also actives media hub, adds a task manger and a few other things. Now we can all relax..

I hope the GPS update that came out today doesn't give Tmo or Samsung a reason to postpond the FROYO update even longer. . .

Could take 24-48 hours to roll out to everyone. Be patient.

Ok, cool :) a GPS fix isn't Froyo, but it is a good start that they are finally doing an update...I wish GPS and lag would be fixed but just GPS is good.
