Help Notifications sounds interrupt while using multimdia on my Galaxy S

Hello everyone

I have a Samsung Galaxy S and enjoying every minute of it. The only problem I have is every time I get a notification of any sort(text message or mail) when I use the device for multimedia - listening to music, watching videos and playing games - , the sound of what I was doing suddenly stops for a few seconds and then continues. This is extremely annoying and has caused me more than once to lose on a game I was playing or start listening to a song from the beginning all over again.

I tried to find I way to fix this under "settings" but there isn't anything.

Android version - 2.2(Froyo).

Anybody here knows how to solve this? maybe an application?

i think it is suppose to be that way. it does the same thing with my evo. maybe that why they call it a notification

I don't think it's supposed to be that way. As far as I know Android is knows for it's non-obstructive notifications, but here they are anything BUT non-obstructive.
