Offline google maps...not in labs? :S

So I've updated to Google Maps 5.7, and this reportedly includes the ability to download maps of a 10km radius to use offline.

But I can't find this when I go to Labs. The other two are there: Measure and Scale Bar. But no offline maps.

Any idea why this may be?

I'm using an HTC Hero (UK) with VillainROM 12. I've tried uninstalling Google Maps and reinstalling.

Edit: damn, think I may have found an answer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15442276 (about the X10 Mini but guess it applies to the Hero as well)
