Help Old gmails accts can i just delete ones with same phone num.google wont letme use it said been used

HOW do I delete old gmail accounts not in use to free up my phone#

I don't know if it will free much space but you should be able to do it in Settings > Accounts (or Accounts & Sync). If that doesn't work try going online and deleting the account in Google (Account Preferences)

Contacts don't use much data space, all you will do is remove the visual clutter by getting rid of the extraneous accounts....

I had to purge my phone to raw bones, then connected to only Google Accounts.
that did a superior job of cleaning things up.

Make it a point to never save a new contact to "Phone", as it will be lost if the phone dies.... it won't be backed up by Google. There are apps to backup Contacts, but you have to do it manually , or set them up to autoBackup.
