Petition to Motorola to update Android OS for the Triumph

Don't mean to be a downer, but Motorola isn't going to make an update for this phone. It's technically not even their phone. Motorola didn't build it. It was generically built, then Motorola bought the rights to it, slapped their logo on it, and gave it to Virgin Mobile.
I would post a source, but I can't find one at the moment. This is a true statement though, I'm sure someone can come up with some evidence of it.

I signed this petition a while back when it was first posted on the fourm. Any word from motorola or virgin mobile(whoever is in charge of the updates) to if we would possible be getting one. This phone sure has the potential for a upgrade. Anyone know of an email address we can type a suggestion to? Thehe more update suggestions/complaints the better.

Maybe an update exists and VMUSA/Sprint doesn't want to provide it to us.

I think the device was designed by Huawei
Huawei U9000 IDEOS X6 vs. Motorola Triumph - GSMArena.com

but it has Motorola 3G radio components in it, and so I don't think personally, it is accurate to label it "not even their phone".

I think because it is branded Motorola and is warrantied by Motorola, Motorola must support the device. I suspect they have prepared a SW update and we won't see it unless VMUSA/Sprint agree to provide it to us.

That is a very good point... but...

Motorola and Virgin Mobile still have not gotten back to us about the petition I think because we need more people to sign it. But with that said if they will not create a updated rom for the Motorola Triumph I will start building one.

I think an update exists. But you'll have difficulty proving it.

But if you create one, you stand about 0 chance of VMUSA accepting it and providing it to others.

there is no point in this petition vm nor motorola will be doing anything for this phone. it is said that motorola did make some sort of update for the phone which i don't believe at all but sprint/virgin mobile did not accept it. so if it hasn't gotten through to y'all brains yet neither party will be doing anything for this phone. Just pray that the devs. and all here keeps working hard to improve this phone for us because no one else will.

Dude we know our chances are slim to none since we started the petition. Nobody has their hopes up, this is just to get their attention that they have loyal customers that feel ripped off. How can you expect anything to change if you don't try? Dont be a hater.

^^ +1 agree, if you dont support this the dont post here. Were just trying to get to Motorola and VM to give us an update.

Im not being a hater, trust me i want this update just like everyone else. But waiting and fighting posting on mototola forums virgin mobile forums for nearly a year, sending emails to both companies getting less to no response diffidently takes its toll.

Not sure if it will work, but it didn't hurt me to do it either.
I also heard that there was an update being made, but I didn't hear that it was rejected. I hope that's wrong.

Hopefully this works out... we should totally skip GB because MT's hardware is very compatible for ICS.. so give thanks to all the dev's that work on any phone to give it what they cant receive :)
