Help phone as wifi modem?

Hello

I've heard there is a way if i route my phone i can use it as a wifi modem on my pc i was just wondering how i do this? if anybody can point me in the right direction

not sure about the wifi modem thing, but u can use it as an wireless access point, sharing the phone internet connection to other people with wifi's.

Phone needs to be rooted and u'll need a tethering app from the market like Barnacle Wifi tether.

If for some reason you're trying to avoid rooting your phone (I would advise to root, personally), there is pda net and ez tether in the market, but they use usb to tether. Meaning, you can use your phones internet connection to get your computer online. To do it wirelessly, you'll need to be root and get a wireless tether app, as previous poster said. If you have an Evo and you are root you also can use the WiFi hotspot free (I mean, not that I'm doing that or anything )
