Help Phone cannot detect wifi network made with wireless LAN

Hi,

Yesterday I bought my first android phone. Before that I had nokia 5800XM and nokia n86.

I used to share my laptop's internet connection wirelessly by making a home network via wireless LAN.

Problem is my LG optimus one cannot detect this wireless network while other nokia phones can detect and connect to it.

Can anybody tell how to fix this. My wireless LAN is a/b/g

Surprisingly, the first thing to do when encountering this problem is to reset (usually power-cycle) your router.

I know that sounds odd, but that works in a surprisingly large percentage of these cases.

Do you have SSID broadcast enabled? I have no idea if Nokia phones require it, but Android has (had?) issues with connecting to a wireless network if that's disabled...

here is how made wireless network:

First I enbled internet connection sharing on wired LAN that is connected to internet. Then I created a wireless network with

Network name (ssid): sakib
key: <mykey> (I have tried both wep and wap personal)
Then I set it to computer to computer Ad-hoc.

This way nokia phones can find it but LG optimus one cannot. However, optimus can find other networks like mcDonald etc.
