Help Playing 4k video on 4k tv

Newbie
Does anyone know how to stream 4k video from my s5 to my 4k TV? I use media share app and it works on 1080 but not full ultra HD
Has anyone got any ideas?

I'm not sure it would be possible to do so directly from the phone since it only has a 1080p screen. all the things i can think of, chromecast, fire tv (stick, in my case), mhl all i think are 1080. i think you might have to copy the video to something that can output at 4k to be able to watch it that way

What is an mhl cable and what do they do?

The charging port on your SGS5 looks like a microUSB and acts like one for charging and passing data to a PC.

Except it's not a microUSB port. It's an MHL port - mobile high-definition link.

With an adapter, it transforms into an HDMI port - and many adapters have been miniaturized into looking like just a cable - except they're really not, they contain active electronics - and requires a USB power source.

For just HD, you can use an MHL 2 adapter and because it's an SGS5, you need a non-standard 11 pin model like the following -

To go to 4k HD, aka UHD, you need an MHL 3 adapter.
