Help Podcasts with ads don't work

When I try and listen to a podcast such as Car Talk, it only works if there is no ad that plays before the podcast. On ones where there is an ad, the ad will play, but then it skips to the end of the podcast and I cannot seek to anywhere in the middle either. These are mp3 files that are downloaded from the internet, and they will not play in any of the multiple apps that I have tried to play them in. Podcasts from Google Listen do this too.

The same podcasts have no trouble playing on my laptop.

Is anyone else having this issue? Would anyone be willing to see if they could replicate it? Here is an example of something that has the issue.

If anyone could download the Google Listen app and try to play a podcast with an ad in front of it, that would be really helpful. I would like to know whether or not the podcast actually plays.
