For comparison sake I did the same test while on my home wifi network. Results were.
3913 down 4856 up 54ms ping lmao. i cant believe 4g is faster than my wifi.

Please don't use the speedtest app, it is really made to test 3g connections. Go to the internet browser an hit up both T1 | Business Broadband & Voice Provider | Speakeasy Inc. and Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test websites. When you do the test make sure your wipe the browser history before and after each test.

WARNING:

I read somewhere that speedtest.net APP reports the upload WAYYYY too high. They have to update the app for our new Snapdraggon processors. I believe I read it reported upload 3-4X too High. Real Uploads should be 5-12MBPS range.

Noah from Technobuffalo makes a comment about the speedtest app being broken in his unboxing of the Thunderbolt. He was getting the same crazy upload speeds.

He ended up tehtering the phone to his labtop, ran the test on the laptop, and got a more realistic upload speed.

Tethered to my Mac and running speakeasy speed test I get 20 Mbps down and 13 Mbps up here in Atlanta.

On a empty network 20mbps is possible, if you upload is going above 5mbps, something is very wrong.

Using speedtest.net on my web browser, my speeds are as follows for the Los Angeles server:

Ping: 69
Download: 7.74 Mbps
Upload: 0.17 Mbps

Uploads are slower than I expected. Speeds are similar over multiple tests and different servers in the Southern Cal. area.

I'm thinking of getting the bolt and I live in MA. How is the 4G coverage so far? I live west of Boston and have been told the 4G covers a good portion of the state. Have you traveled at all, or just around Saugus area? Thanks in advance

speedtest.net is simply swapped. speakeasy is pretty close to it so its just a minor bug with speedtest.net. It was fun to tell the VZW guy and watch him try to adjust all sorts of settings.

This is a more realistic speed.
