Problem with FB syncing to my Calendar

Hi There,
On my phone I used to have the Facebook app. I have since removed it and now log into my Facebook using the Chrome app. However for some reason it likes to sync everybodies birthdays from Facebook to my Calendar. That is quite an annoyance because I only like to keep important dates. I have an HTC Sensation running Android version 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
I have already gone into accounts and sync and turned off syncing for that but it is still there
So if somebody could help me that would be appreciated.

Have you tried clearing the cache on the calendar?

no I havent. How would I do that?

I believe app drawer>manage apps>calendar>clear cache.

Hopefully someone can back me up since I do not have access to my phone at the moment.
