Protective film on camera?

I purchased my S5 on Saturday and I just noticed what appears to be a protective film on the camera? It looks like it doesn't cover the actual lens circle though. Is this a protective film and is it safe to remove? I noticed small air bubbles that caught my eye. I have tried to pull up and edge, but haven't been able to get a grasp on it. Has anyone else noticed this?

I was finally able to get my fingernail under there and peeled it off, but it took forever to get underneath that little booger. It's a protective film with a hole in the middle. I've been taking photos just fine, but I bet the quality will be even better now that the film has been removed.

Peel it off, it's just like the protective film on the front. Not meant to stay on.
