[Q] has anyone tried the external antennae?

Can't help but notice that connector at the back of the phone, i had a similar connector for an external wifi antenae. But what is it though? GPS? GSM? Wifi?

Anyone knows?

I remember reading that this is for 3G but that it is only meant for testing. After all, the phone would have to be operated with the back off if an aerial were attached.

It might still be useful though if you could connect a decent directional aerial to it. I am going on holiday in a couple of weeks to somewhere with very poor reception and I want to use my phone as a modem. Having an aerial might help (or it might not).
