questions about the 2.1 update and installation on a rooted droid

I am wondering if and when 2.1 is released by Google will we be able to get full featured versions of 2.1 on our rooted phones a lot sooner than the ota update. Secondly, does anyone know what kind of install it might be. Will it just be another rom to replace the humancyborg rom that most of us are running. Hopefully when 2.1 is released it shows up quickly on here.

We're going to get the rom after the first OTA hits. It's probably going to be very similar to the 2.1's we have now. We can't really get it until someone has it though.

After someone gets it they can easily make it a rom and it will be released for all.

Guys, there's no OTA coming out 'in a couple of days'. That's when Google will release 2.1 to the DEVELOPERS.

Having a rooted Droid means that you will get a cooked ROM made from the official 2.1 release most likely within a few days that the OS gets open sourced.

Verizon/Moto will not release the OTA 2.1 official update to the Droid until it passes the multitude of tests that both companies will run on it. So if you're not rooted, you won't be seeing the "official 2.1" for quite a while now...
