Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

So I wake up this morning to water dripping from our light in the kitchen and a cereal bowl catching the drip. Wife and I went to bed early last night as we were exhausted from our dirt project. So my tax deduction, 4.3 GPA Honor Roll daughter didn't think to wake us up because she didn't think it was a big deal 🤔 I have failed her somewhere :goofydroid:

Going to need a new water heater and the wife can't wait until Monday so we're going to hav eto pay the extra 25% because apparently Saturday is after hours. The plumber we use is probably the best and well known in our area so we know what we're getting, but Saturday during the day is after hours. Not sure I get that. Wife could use a few days of cold showers with these hot flashes, but no
My hot water tanks quit so frequently that I am able to buy the exact same unit and the plumbing makeup is the same. I can install the replacement in short order. The time killer is the trip to the dump to toss the old one. For the record: The original hot water tank lasted over 30 years. The new ones last a few minutes past warranty.

This current one that broke is 8 years. So no, nothing last like it used to. My neighbor and I put it in and his just went out last week, his was put in the same year as ours.

I saw this unfolding a month or so back on FB and just let it slide on by. Today I get a call from an old classmate / girl friend asking me if I was willing to jump on board, once again, and be part of our high school class reunion committee. I never could tell that girl no. I have been the only male voice through all of these years so I feel a bit obligated to do my part..again. Surprisingly we had a great turn out last time. We tried to do a 50 year but it was in the middle of the covid fiasco so we ended up having a "the class of 1970 turns 70 birthday party" This will be our 55th year reunion. Our class was only 200 strong but we enjoyed over 50 classmates and their wives and husbands last time. We are still thick.

Pit, please make your class reunion... please please. You will be surprised at the memories that will flood in ... some good and some bad but trust me, you will see someone that you have not thought of in decades that you in some fashion made an everlasting impression on this person and they can't wait to tell you what you have meant to them. It's weird. Having shared this forum with you, I know you were well thought of and no doubt touched some lives. And guess what, they have all aged and are no longer caught up in the "my shit don't stink syndrome"

I met a funeral procession while out mowing yesterday. I pulled over and stopped and then had the fear I would be rear-ended as all the other drivers were blowing past me. I've never encountered such a group of disrespectful people before. I was embarrassed. The procession was actually loaded with classic cars that most all looked to be in mint shape. It was entertaining watching them pass by.

I guess I'm just old with yesterday's values. I still hold the door open for people. I still say Ma'am and Sir and thankyou. I wait my turn and I offer my assistance when I can be of help. I certainly pull over and show my respect for the family and friends that are seeing their loved one make their last earthly journey. I'm no saint but I will not be disrespectful.

IS it my cell or does Windex Moment has not allow me to have permissions for camera or for photos anymore?
I had it previously on the same cell phone too, I am just wondering and got pretty upset, I reached out to the customer service oh a few days ago..

Definitely one of those days... I waited all morning for the guy that built a deck for me to come by to get his money. I finally gave up, left the check with the wife and left to mow. I stopped and filled up the mower and ran to my first Thursday lawn. I tried to raise the deck for the proper height for the lawn and the electronic actuator refused to do anything. Keep in mind the mower is on it's third actuator and the two replacements cost me a grand each. It was last replaced across the winter and is way too soon to be anywhere near being worn out. I flipped out. I loaded the mower back up and brought it home. I had to figure out how to raise the deck to the height for the majority of my large nice lawns. I can always mow the crummy stuff that is cut shorter with my 3' mower. In tracing the wiring I found a wire worn in two because of the BS way the wiring was done. I fixed the open in the wiring but the entire harness needs to be rerouted. Just as I was getting done my deck guy showed up. I settled up with him and then went mowing. The temperature was now in the mid 90's and the humidity near 60%. It was extremely miserable out. Next problem was my backpack blower was not running right. I have no idea what it's problem was but I babied it through the lawns. I'll work on it this weekend. When I got to the next to the last lawn my tunes ran out of power. They usually make it though mowing and riding later but not today. That's my rant for today... thanks for hearing me out.
