Returning my *2nd* Evo and switching to AT&T

You're going to regret it. I was comparing my Evo to my wife's iPhone last night. Her screen just looks tiny now. Also ran some browser tests. Her iPhone was taking about 5 seconds longer to load webpages than my Evo. On 3G and Wifi.

AT&T is the main reason I won't even consider a new iPhone. I was dropping at least 2 calls a day, would get texts 10 minutes after they were sent, voicemails 3 hours after they were left, and a lot of times my phone wouldn't even ring, it would just go to voicemail.

So yeah. Enjoy all that. You can have the nicest phone in the world, but if it doesn't work, it's going to annoy you. You think your streaming is bad now...

Agreed. As much as I liked my iPhone and even with the little issues on my Evo I would never go back to AT&T. I know all the issues will be worked out eventually.

With Sprint the internet is quite a bit faster even with just the 3G, and I don't drop a call 5-26 times trying to talk to friends for 2 minutes. My service just works. I don't know what it is with AT&T but 2 years ago they were acceptably bad. Now it is a whole new level of bad, back in Hawaii where my family lives and here in Seattle the service has become so bad its almost unusable. I wonder what a bunch of new iPhones will do to their already shitty service? AT&T's solution for my dropped calls was reverting back to Edge/2G all of the time to avoid it. To me that is totally unacceptable.

Easy solution get Satellite radio. Why in the world would you judge a phone by streaming audio quality??

I'm gettin an iPhone 4 also, however, I'll be keeping my EVO because I love Android, and this is the best Android device available in the states. Love the fact that with my EVO as a mobile hot spot for WiFi, I'll be able to video chat where ever I am with the iPhone....hehehe.

I don't understand why some of you are so worked up over someone leaving and posting their reasons for doing so. I find some of these threads useful b/c they detail nuances that someone like myself (not yet an evo owner, but reading up on it) wouldn't be able to understand/know.

Why so much passion in defending a mere phone?

If you read through this entire thread, the ones who are and who are not juvenile are rather apparent.

Seriously though, the iPhone is always a great option. I love my EVO though. For anyone else thinking about leaving the EVO, the upcoming Moto Droid X on Verizon is supposed to have a 4.4" screen, may be worth checking out. I just like Sprint prices...and I love my EVO...I've been following Supersonic rumors from the beginning...I peed myself when I heard Sprint was the one...

The OP obviously did not have an Evo. Not only do the Apple Fanbois try to create posts that discourage honest seekers of information but they also title their posts in a way that will get picked up by the Google News RSS. This post will show up under news soon in Google, be found by "bloggers" and blogged about how Evos are being returned in droves and how sh!tty their audio is.

That will be about as true as it was for all those *thousands* of returns for
separating screens.

If the Mods had any sense, they would delete this thread.
