Root Rooting Legend FAIL

1. Got a Vodafone Legend.
2. Got the 2.2 update.
3. Want to root...
4. Make Goldcard (don't know if it works or not)
5. Followed this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQzo6qahctk
6. Failed when run setup2.bat
7 So I thought that this would help [HOWTO] DOWNGRADE to 1.31 which you can then root for Legend 2.1 - xda-developers.
7. But it's for 2.1 and I can't even get it started...
8. So I thought that restoring may help, but when I restore the ! screen from step 5 comes up...
9. I post a thread hoping for some gurus help...

Downgrading from Froyo OTA - Android @ MoDaCo to downgrade to Froyo. you tried a hard reset?

I can't hardreset it... when I try to hard reset the ! screen comes up...

when you try to reset it, you are turning it off, holding down the volume down button and pushing the on button to get into the bootloader aren't you?

no... I choose recovery... it's wrong... shit

scroll down to 'clear storage' recovery is supposed to bring up that screen, it's for flashing ROMs and shiz once rooted
