Samsung Captivate being stupid.

okay so i had my samsung captivate charging and i turned it off while on the charger. i went to turn it on and screen lit up and did everything like normal but when it was time for it to show the home page my screen went black. The four buttons on the bottom of the captivate light up though, but when i click them nothing happens. and it vibrates like crazy. Ive turned it off and on many times and it does same thing everytime. how do i fix this?

Have you tried removing the battery and putting it back in? I doubt the action of shutting it off while plugged in did anything other than unmount the sd cards.

i took it off charger and took out battery and sim card and let it sit for a bit put it back in and still did it.

I can't think of anything else it might be other than the screen dying. You may have to take it back for warranty repairs. The fact that it happened when it did is coincidental.
