There's quite a few ways to do it...

I use "picasa web albums" by google (free). Upload screenshot to picasa then select "link to this photo" then select "image only" and choose the size (640px is what I uploaded in first post), then copy the "embed image" code. When you make a post here just click on the image icon and insert the code you got from picasa.

Install the xposed installer first and enable it by clicking "update/install" then install gravity box and enable it in xposed installer and then reboot. Now use gravitybox to make stat bar transparent.

I only see solid colors for the status bar color. is there a certain color number I need to use?

Open Gravitybox, hit transparency management, slide status bar for launcher" all the way to 100% feel free to add the lockscreen transparency if you'd like , this "doesn't work for the stock lg home, you have to use Nova or any other launcher (Nova is the way to go )
If you use the LG launcher for the knock feature, you can turn on double tap status bar to turn off your screen for Nova, You can find this feature in "statusbar Tweaks"

Don't look in stat bar tweaks. Scroll down a little till you see "transparency management". From there set the transparency all the way for "launcher" and "lockscreen".

You can try the the module mentioned in post 11, but it is kinda buggy
