Help Service on HTC Evo

Got a few questions about roaming, primarily on Sprint phones...

I have the Evo, and If I root it, is there anyway to improve roaming capabilities? I have good service pretty much everywhere, but when I go home-home for a weekend, I have basically no service, and the phone really never wants to roam.

I've done PRL update, etc., but it doesn't really help. I'm just looking for way to increase my roaming capabilities if there is a way, on the Evo.

Any ideas? Sorry if this doesn't apply to this part of the forum, but it seemed like it might since I figured it might deal with rooting.

In short, no. If you have updated your prl, then your phone has access to any tower that sprint can roam on.
