what is the advantage of using handcent or chompsms over the regular one? is it just looks?

ya i tried both as well.. didn't see anything better so went back to stock. i actually prefer the black background and see contact pics. was just wondering if i was missing something.

Not missing nothing lol . I went back to stock too. Works just fine and doesnt look bad at all.

You are aware you can use a black background or any picture as the background in handcent?

Was going to recommend Chomp; but if you don't like handcent you probably won't like chomp either. I prefer Chomp because you can customize the graphics stuff a bit more than handcent.

I like the flexibility of changing the look and also the quick reply among other things.
