I have Settings/Sound and display/System volume turned all the way down. Until now, startup sound hasn't played. All that I've done today is to enable sideloading and installed Titanium.
Yes, I know I can use Root Explorer to rename the PowerOn.wav file, but short of that...any thoughts as to what is overriding the system volume slider?
+++++
Additional: The settings.db modification which enabled sideloading also screwed with the startup sound setting. Even if I restore the pre-sideload settings.db the poweron.wav still plays although the startup volume slider is all the way down. Strange.
