Does anyone notice that the streaming radio apps, such as slacker or iradio keep dropping their network connections?

no, i seem to have a perfect connection. i've never had it stop to buffer even.
try the battery pull. if that doesnt work, try the device self service

Nope. I streamed episodes of This American Life via Google Listen while I was riding to the beach last weekend. Sounded like I was playing back locally.

nope, you must have a bad signal strength. I can get pandora perfectly with only 1 bar.

I use Shoutcast(TuneWiki) and it plays flawlessly over my 3G connection. How many bars do you have?

I am still experiencing this issue with my second EVO. I returned the first one due to a dead pixel.

My palm pre always played Slacker without issue, but the connection on the EVO is sometimes spotty.

Any suggestions? I did a battery pull and everything.
