Root [T-Mobile] [ROM][F6] Xperion ROM **Updated 2/11/15**

And I was because after flashing each rom i was restoring the back up that i had made with CWM so i was in stock, even my phonw didn't have anything else installed only the appa that comes with the phone all that bloatware, but i mean ibdont know i will try it again right now im typing this mesaage feom the f6 running the stock firmware i ibdont have any issues ,but ibwill try to.flash that rom tomorrow because i really want to try it
 
ROM Updated

Changes:
  • Adjusted recovery shortcut in settings menu since we now also have TWRP recovery
  • Added SuperSU shortcut in settings menu
  • Added Xperion ringtone and notification
  • Added unsecured kernel with init.d and other features
  • Removed Nova shortcut from settings menu for those that want to use other launchers (nova still included in rom)

Instructions:
  1. You can install the rom right over any other rom available, I made it easier and more noob friendly to install. Follow the new instructions listed. That's it.

THANKS FOR THE ROM!!!
I have been using it for the last month and it has worked great.

I updated to the latest version yesterday.
I attempted to change the background for the settings page using the previously provided zipped file 'Xperion_BGs_7-16-2014.zip'. I was able to access and initiate the program. However, it would not change the backgrounds in the settings section.
This worked on the prior released version.
Is a new 'Xperion_BGs' file needed to work with the ROM that was released on 8-18?

Don't know, the bgs are working fine for me. Try redownloading the bgs and flashing again to see if that helps.

Also I'm using TWRP recovery instead of cwm. I have a link for twrp in the first post.

I updated the recovery to TWRP, downloaded BGS again, and attempted to change the background, but it didn't change it.
In the end, I downloaded the ROM again and re-installed it. That fixed the problem.

Question: What weather widget are you using for the F6 that is shown in the pictures and videos of this ROM? I've been trying a few different weather widgets and I am not satisfied with them.

Ok I added the LG stock browser back in to the new rom update for those that want it.

If you already updated yesterday or earlier today, then here's a flashable zip of the lg browser alone...

I applied this ROM followed by the SDCard change from external to SD and now my HomeButton is not working!!!
WTF!!!

I know someone else was facing the same issue and was arrogantly dismissed in this thread.

But if a few of us are facing this issue, I am sure there are masses that are facing this issue as well.

Dismissal is just a sign of lack of maturity!!

Attacking me for a free rom you didn't pay for isn't gonna get you anywhere. Stop whining about free stuff and go install another rom if this one doesn't fit your needs. I don't owe you damn thing.

If a couple of people report an issue that otherwise noone else is reporting out of thousands of installs then it's most likely not something I'm gonna find or evern a real issue. Also any sdcard mod you install after the rom is not my problem as I'm not the creator of that sd mod.

I'm not a high paid developer working on a dev team for lg. I'm just one guy that does this as a hobby for free.

Attacking someone for free stuff is a sure sign of lack of maturity.

Oh and one person that had this issue edited his post saying he fixed it (here's the post) probably by reinstalling.

Anyways, if you're not happy with the rom go install another or go back to stock. After all stock is what you actually paid for.
 
I just received my new F6 with Tmobile 10h firmware today. If i want to use this ROM, what should be my first step? Do I have to install Metropcs 12b firmware as first step? Is it required to root my phone before that?

Is this the guide to follow to get from Tmobile 10h to Metro 12b? Thanks GT, for all these guides and the ROM.

Hey no problem ;)

You don't have to switch firmware, just need to be rooted with a recovery installed.

Follow the guide in the top half of the page in the next link to do both then you can flash the rom...

Root & Recovery

Please do make sure to read up and know what you're doing before doing any of this.
 
Question for people who have this ROM on their Tmobile F6.

Does your MMS work? When I send MMS, the receiver receives it from number "1-261-391-16714688". Does anyone know what's happening? Is it something about APN setting? How did you guys change APN setting?
 
Navigate to the following on your phone and see if you can change your apn. I have a metro f6 so mine is already set to "MetroPCS". I don't know how it is for t-mo f6.

/settings/tethering & networks/mobile networks/access point names
 
Thanks GT. I checked APN settings and it already has Tmobile APN address for MMS there. MMS is working fine now. I don't know why it happened for 4-5 hours, probably phone was still being registered on Tmobile network. APN settings were already showing Tmobile network addresses.

ROM working smoothly on Tmobile F6. No issues yet. Downloaded Tmobile visual voicemail and it's working fine on this ROM. Thanks once again for your ROM, GT.
 
Thank you sooo much this ROM is amazing. BTW this is the first custom ROM I've ever installed and I love all of the features... So much better than the boring stock ROM that I've been waiting for a kitkat update on... So far I haven't found any bugs and everything is working right. Thanks again. :D
 
I can't install this rom. I tried three times already and installation gets aborted. I have to reset phone because phone gets stuck in boot loop. Please help

Install TWRP recovery which I have listed in the first post and then you can install the rom.

Wi-Fi calling complains about a missing 911 address (as expected). The link to update the 911 address takes me to MetroPCS's site, though, rather than T-Mobile. Do you know of a way to configure Wi-Fi calling to use T-Mobile instead of MetroPCS, or at least get it to stop complaining about the 911 address?

Sorry I have no idea. I have a metro pcs f6 and I don't use wifi calling so I just disable it in the settings. I believe there's a button in both wifi settings and call settings to disable it. Don't have my phone right now so that I can check.

I think I saw someone on some other thread say that you can register 911 manually online. Don't know how though since I don't use it.
 
Have you ever thought about making the notification bar like this? http://myandroidchief.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/1e5cgalaxy-note-2-vs-nexus-4-113.jpg .... I'm really craving that notification/status bar, don't get me wrong, I prefer your notification bar over the stock one any time, but I would like the simple notification bar if possible. I'm just requesting this, I'm not commanding you, but it would be nice to have something like this considering your rom is very efficient and has a freedom kernel that not any other LG F6 roms has this yet (from what I've searched).
