Tethering without Hotspot service?

Hi, I have an SM-G955U and wanted to see if there were any tethering options without having to pay for the Sprint tethering/hotspot service?

I rooted my S5 many years ago, but I haven't really followed it since. Has the S8+ been rooted yet? Does it provide tethering? Would someone point me to the right documentation on how to do this?

I have a the cricket unlimited plan,which has hotspot disabled. I use an APP called Easy Tether, that allows you to tether using USB or Bluetooth. Its worked fine for me.
