Text Message Notification - Question

Hi Guys, I'm not really sure if there is a way to prevent this from happening but every time I receive a text message(while on my pocket), the screen turns on and it gets accidentally unlocked with me not knowing. Is there a way to prevent this? Thanks in advance!

Also, did you turn on any features in Accessibility settings?

no password but I have the "swipe screen to unlock". My problem is that when I put the phone on my pocket and if someone sends me a text message... it gets swiped inside my pocket without me knowing that it has already been unlocked.

I decided to just put a pattern lock to solve the problem

Hi mate, not too sure wether you can disable screen whilst using the stock sms app but i use the GOSMS app as it is totally customisable and under settings you can choose wether the screen comes on and unlocks after recieving an sms or not...
