So im only 17 years old but i have enough money to buy a new phone and its cheaper to buy the phone at the store than online, but since im only 17 would the store allow me to buy a phone from them there? I already have their service and im on a plan with my dad and stepmom id just be going into the store wanting a new phone without a parent with me.

Depends on where you are I think, what country, carrier policy, jurisdiction, etc. Where I am(China), a store will probably sell a phone to a minor, but NOT a SIM, which you do need for phone service of course.
    AZgl1500 and AMOCO like this.

if you already have a phone and it has a removable SIM, you can buy the phone and use your SIM.
I have never seen one ask for ID, it is just a piece of plastic until it gets a SIM.

and to be honest, I doubt any store even bothers to ask you for an ID, all they want is money, it is a throw away device and thousands are sold and thrown away the same day.
