Help Upgraded Note 10.1 2012 to kitkat with kies, storage problem

I have a samsung note 10.1 2012, after upgrading to kitkat using kies the internal storage is now displayed 16 gb instead of 32gb.
I searched a lot on the internet, people having the same issue but with the nexus phone and tablet and the solution was to lock and unlock the boot loader. The thing is I dont know how to do so. Can anyone help me?

I just used Kies today the update was 4.1.2 not KitKat. But it did get rid of my root so software updates now works for me.
