I use my bank's billpay service, not a credit/debit card, so this won't affect me at all.

You can also pay online via a checking account. The article specifically says debit/credit cards, so I assume this charge will not apply if you use your checking account information for VZW to do a draft from your checking account.

I will say this I just paid with my debit and did not notice any fees nor did I notice a change in the amount from my paper bill to the amount listed on the payment kiosk

The article stated that the fee is to start on Oct 16th and will apply to landline, DSL, and FiOS customers only. It also states that is no plan to apply this to Wireless customers (yet).

As long as it doesn't hit wireless I'll be OK. Still sucks though. They really do like to nickel and dime everything don't they?

I only have wireless with VZ but its a disturbing notion. Although last time I called *611 I was told via automated message Im get a $2.xx credit, probably my chunk of the millions they're paying out now for over-charging us
