Okay, here's another awesome veteran story: in January 1941 Whitney Duhon left his Abbeville, Louisiana high school in his sophomore year to join the war effort in Europe at age 16. In a recent interview, he lamented that his one regret in life was not finishing school.
On Monday, August 9th, 2021, at the Franklin County Tennessee School Board meeting, Whitney Duhon was awarded his high school diploma... at age 96. It was a privilege to be involved in something like this.
