So I wanted to see the speed difference with xtrROM without using setCPU. I stoped the service with system panel and uninstalled th app. Just now I loaded the temp+cpu widget and it shows the processor at 729 mHz. I went into system panel and the cpu meter at the top is hitting up to 600+mHz.

I will need to reboot and see what's reported afterward.

OK, did the reboot and now everything reports the speed back to 528. ADW no longer feels as snappy nor do some of the other apps.

    Maybe SetCPU is worth having

I just tried 'no setCPU' and have since reverted back to 'yes setCPU'. I found that things ran fine, but I think the market and the internet were faster with setCPU.

Try with JIT enabled to see if it brings the snap back into the ROM. Worked for me.
