Went to the vzw store to trade my rezound for the nexus.

How much effort did the manager have to use in order to persuade you? What was her or his reasoning?

We chatted for a little bit. He said he is buying a phone in the next few weeks and is going with the rezound for the beats. He said he listens to a lot of music on his phone.

For me the camera and size are the two main reasons i did not switch today. I liked the interface on the nexus and the phone is super light. Typing on the nexus was really fast and accurate.

I will wait a few more days and go look at it again. I am torn, i like my rezound but have been waiting for the nexus.

no offense but keeping a phone for beatz is kind of foolish. you can get the same sound from any phone using normal headphones.

its all marketing. if you dont think so, please tell me what Dr. Dre knows about cell phone sound technology? All he is doing is putting his name on some pink buttons on your phone and making you think its something special.

Rezound is not a bad phone at all, in fact its a good phone. I'm jsut syaing dont let Dr. Dre persuade you into keeping a phone.

The headphones that phone gets is a joke.

agreed, get what you truly want.

I had a bionic before this... it's only marginally lighter on paper but feels a log lighter.

Sound is epic, especially with the built in google music eq. again, epic.

Bring your headset and jack into the demo phone and play with it for a while. We can compare on paper or even on the forums all day long.... but I'm getting excellent results from my SGN on VZW!

+1 to that. Waiting a bit is what I'm doing as well.

I did go in to the store this morning to play with the Gnex. I found it astounding in its screen quality. Basically I had forgotten how much superior Samsung is to Motorola in that regard, but there it was in front of me as I held my X2 next to the Gnex, both on the same website.

I found nothing to be disappointed about except the price, as I am not eligible for any discount at all. :(

This is what beats audio does. It is 100% a gimmic.

If you don't want to watch the video, basically what happens is that he opens up both the beats audio software, and the windows EQ settings. When beats is on, it moves the eq settings to what a normal person would pretty much already have it set as. When beats is deactivated, the eq drops and is extremely flat.

I'm with you 100%. Similar to what apple does with hardware?

In their next ipod cell phone, they will introduce features already in android phones and call a commonly available cpu their "own", when it's just a samsung cpu.

These other companies are getting out of control, time for federal regulation to help the consumer, lol.:D:D

I think he is talking about the beats integration with the music player. Not necessarily the head phones.

Ohhhh haha well i have the beats pros, and i tried them with the rezound and then with my ipod nano i wear as a watch. I can tell you the ipod sounded better. I dont think i will ever use my phone to listen to music.

Just exchanged my rezound for a nexus this morning, the power button was terrible on the rezound, the nexus power button is perfect. It just seems so much easier to use and better placed. Overall I've been very pleased with the Nexus and don't regret it. While signal strength on the nexus appears to be worse (no bars! vs one on the rezound), actual performance hasn't really changed, so I have a feeling Samsung simply gauges signal quality differently. Because I have really poor signal at my place, especially the basement, the fact that I get any 3G internet at all down there on my Nexus is pretty darn good. I have also found web browsing to be a faster smoooooooother experience. Multitasking of course with ICS is leaps and bounds beyond the Rezound...until the rezound gets ICS...one day. Oh and google chrome bookmark sync = AWESOME!!

Btw, just did a speedtest in the basement (known as the "black hole" in my house) and have 921kbps down and 120 up (3G) the best I've seen in my basement on any phone EVER.

Beats audio only works in a few of the phones apps anyway so keeping a phone because you get a set of gimmick head phones is foolish IMO. if you like beats so much go buy a pair, you will get the same sound and quality( if not better) than you get on the rezound.

This is the problem with conspiracy theorists. You tend to have bad information. While its true that Samsung manufactures the SoC's for Apple, they are designed by Intrinsity which is a fabless semiconducter company which is owned by Apple. In other words Apple designs the A5 SoC and contracts Samsung to build it for them.

I migrated from a Rezound, and with all honesty I can tell you the GNex is a better phone. ICS is leaps and bounds above the crap that is HTC Sense + Gingerbread. Sense is just plain ugly and dull, not to mention slow.
The GNex is also much better made. The Rezound is creaky and plasticky, and the physical buttons are bad. Although I do have to admit the camera on the Rezound is better, the GNex's is nearly as good.
I tried to ignore how slow and laggy the Rezound was, but now that I have the GNex I realize what I've been missing.
The main selling point for you, Beats audio, was negated on my device because whenever I had headphones plugged in, there was a constant staticy popping noise. The GNex is actually better suited for playing music.
I'm actually really glad I returned the Rezound for the GNex. You won't regret it.

It's a question, lighten up. It's still a samsung cpu all around. Stop drinking the kook aide.

Good decision. Phones are a very personal choice, so make sure you're making the right decision for your reasons and not someone else's. After all, you're going to have to live with it for a while.

I am sorry if this was mentioned before but Volume+ can be installed on Galaxy nexus which has the Beats emulation. So far .. Volume+ is working perfect I love my nexus.
