Have you heard of the term "diminishing return"?

The mobile hardware can't not maintain at the grow as it has in the past 3 or 4 years.

It will become how the laptop industry has become. For example, the screen resolution for laptops has not really improved in the past few years, just CPU refresh every generation etc.
Actually I agree with your point, but laptop display was a bad example to use - after years of stagnation, in the last year we've seen a few much higher resolution laptops appear (retina Macbook Pros and the most recent Chromebook come to mind). ;)
