What's the weather like where you are?

It is raining and has been raining and will be raining today. :) I'm certain that the rains are dashing many a weekend plan but the rains are desperately needed. It has been way too long without substantial rainfall here. My area is considered to be in the extreme drought area and we have been under restrictive water use since the summer of 2023. 1.33" has fallen since midnight and 2.09" since it started raining late last night. Radar projects there is much more to fall today. Currently it is 64.6° with an East wind at 10 mph.

I took this yesterday after some strong winds came thru. This is our local "storm shelter" here in Arlington, TN. No tornado, just strong winds. Only building / home in town that had any major damage. Sign on the side of the building says it can with stand winds up to 200mph. I think not.

It rained again over night but only a tenth of an inch for a change. We need the rain but I need it to dry some so I can mow my lawns today. Currently it is overcast and only 57°. There is better than a 50% chance of rain all day today according to my weather app. It looks like I'll be a busy boy tomorrow... sheesh!

I don't know why we have to get our yearly rainfall in the span of a couple of weeks... sheesh. It rained again over night and it's a bog out there. My rain gauge has been measuring light compared to nearby stations. I'm not sure what's up with it. My station shows 1.78" over night and 3.35" for the week. Stations in my are show over two inches over night and around five inches for the week. Needless to say, no matter which gauge you trust, it has rained a lot this week.

It has been raining again. It started late last night and has continued though today and just stopped long enough for me to get my dumpster curbed. So far 1.51" has fallen. One should be careful what they wish for. It has been super arid here for a couple of years or more. The reservoir that provides for my area was at a critical low and we have been on water restrictions. This and the recent rains are what we've needed. However, we didn't need all the rain in a two week span. It's starting to effect the low areas with mild flooding. It is projected that it will rain all day and off and on though the rest of the week and into next week. Now that it's raining... there seems to be no end to it.

It has rained over three inches here today. With the ground saturated it is causing flooding with the runoff. My buddy that lives ten miles North and a couple miles East has received over eight inches. Talk about a mess! It's not like it has cleared out and the sun is shining. More rain is forecasted. :(

Yesterday's rains caused flooding in low-lying areas, a lot of street flooding, and some creeks and rivers out of their banks. There was some property damage and some people displaced. It was far from a major problem but after it being so darn dry for so long, it was definitely a new hassle. I hope to get back on my mowing schedule but it's still very wet out and the yards are soft. Currently it is only 59° but at least the sun is shining.

The humidity is 90% this morning and I can see water droplets on the autos parked outside. My rain gauge shows zero rain but it must have sprinkled.
My weather app shows a chance of showers this morning but I don't see it on the radar. We need more rain. The area lakes are several feet below capacity. However, we need a break from the recent big rains and flooding.
Currently it is 64.8° with zero wind.
