Whatsapp chat history on new phone

I copied the Database folder from my old android phone on to my new Moto G in the Whatsapp folder. Then I installed Whatsapp, when I opened it, it verified my number and then it asked me if I wanted to restore my backup. I clicked on yes. It started restoring, but it didn't complete as I didn't see anything telling me that I have restored a certain number of messages. It took me directly to the page where I could edit my Picture and name. It managed to restore all groups. But I haven't any messages in these groups. And neither do I have any Personal Chats. I still have the previous backup. And I have tried factory resetting my Moto G, but to no avail.

This was on Google+:

1. Deinstall WA on ur new phone.
2. Copy ur whole WA folder from ur old to ur new Phone
3. Install WA on the new Phone. Then it will ask u to import the old data

Done that. Got the same unsuccessful result.
