when 2.2 comes

Question is when 2.2 is availabe to the epic. Will updating erase everything? If so can you recomend a way to backup everything and a good app for it?

Currently unknown, but if history of other phones show us anything, it should NOT erase anything.

no it will not erase anything... speculation. Think about the bigger mess Sprint and Samsung would have on their hands if they pushed out an update that erased millions of users apps/data etc. It just will not happen.

heres what may happen, speaking from experience with iOS. an update should not erase anything, but if something happens during said update, you may have to restore the phone, losing everything. that could happen a number of different ways: the phone powering off during the update, the phone simply freezing halfway through. im not sure how often this happens with Android, but I know with iOS it was pretty common. dont do the update unless your battery has a pretty good charge and just let it do its thing
