when charging phone gets super hot and a yellow triangle with an ! appears inside.

I have a Samsung Galaxy epic sph d-700. When charging it can get really hot and a yellow triangle with wan exclamation point willstart flashing. Or when plugged in it wont charge at all and acts as though the batteey is fully charged, but yet the phone is beeping.
